Books have always been an integral part of my life. From being read bedtime stories as a child, to finding a passion for reading as a I got older, and all the way up to the present day of publishing a book myself. Books allow an escape from reality. They are a two dimensional gateway into any reality you want. You can travel through all corners of time and space, all within the pages of your favorite book! As an author I strive to create these fantastical realities not only for my readers, but for myself. I have always had vivid story lines that lived within my head. They ebbed and flowed as I gave them more or less attention. The magical part is that the more attention I gave them, the more they blossomed into ever creative story lines. My primary goal as an author is first to entertain my audience. To have them invest in my literary creations, worlds, colorful characters, and intriguing story lines. However, my ultimate ambition by transcribing my thoughts into published work is to inspire others to flex their own creative muscles, designing their own fictional fantasies. Just as the books I read as a young man did for me.
After accidentally stumbling across an ancient microorganism frozen in Antarctic ice cores, two college students on a class trip find themselves wrapped up in a chain of horrifying, world changing events. The budding scientists are, at first, excited for the possibility of recognition within the scientific community. Their hopeful speculation quickly evaporates, morphing into a terrifying episode, resulting in what can best be described as zombies. Events rapidly turn unfavorable once the survivors reach the mainland, unknowingly spreading the plague, trying to reach their home. Soon after arriving, the college is quickly quarantined by the military, and is tasked with developing a cure as the world devolves around them.
The second book in the series follows Sergeant Solomon and his students-turned-soldiers from the now-defunct campus after it is invaded by a ravenous horde of zombies. Aside from adjusting to life outside the confines of their scholarly oasis, the group faces multiple heart-wrenching challenges during the next step of their journey. Their mission: transport their precious cargo of immunizations that could solve the entire apocalyptic pandemic. As the group travels across the country, they face off against foes, new and old. They battle against the ever-present infected, the inescapable horde, and cultic clans of survivors. They come to find out their greatest enemy yet may not be the infected but their fellow man. Caught between several forces out for blood, the college crew struggles through the wild wasteland to reach their ultimate goal of salvation for the human race.
The third book in the trilogy follows the students and their leader, Sergeant Solomon, as they continue their cross-country excursion to Cheyenne Mountain. After a harrowing escape from a town of crazed zealots, the college crew is immediately thrown back into the fray against the persistent horde and its deranged leader: the Alpha. After a defeating blow, the party becomes the most vulnerable they’ve been since the beginning of their perilous expedition. The forlorn survivors struggle to keep the cohesive group from fracturing as their grip on sanity and even their lives teeter on a razor’s edge. Out of necessity, they are forced to lean on the generosity of others to continue their mission. The ragtag alliance faces dangers of every sort as the apocalypse pushes the tattered shreds of humanity to their absolute limits. As their objective becomes tantalizingly close, the students make the most startling discovery of all: the infected are more intelligent than anyone could have imagined.
